Warli Painting

Traditional Indian art dates back to the 3rd millennium B.C., when humans first settled the continent. The old and gorgeous Warli Art is a folk art form that was originally practised by tribal women in the Northern Sahyadri area in Maharashtra. It wasn't until the 1970s that this style of painting was officially recognised, and it was given the name "Warli" after that. Paintings on the walls of a tribal home are an exuberant expression of the tribe's unique culture and aesthetic. The essential characteristic of Warli art is that it does not show legendary characters or depictions of deities, but rather reflects contemporary life. Warli art is characterised by its exquisite execution of free rhythmic patterns, which include depictions of humans and animals engaged in activities like hunting, dancing, sowing, and harvesting. These groups traditionally lived in the forest but have recently adopted pastoral lifestyles. Several previously unnotable tribes have recently emerged thanks to the growing notoriety and commercialization of Warli painting, and they are gradually becoming integrated into modern society.
